Connect an AI
This page shows how to connect an artificial intelligence (AI) app, such as Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor, to a brain, and how to manage the connection. It describes TomaTío 1.9.8.
The connector address
AI apps connect over the Model Context Protocol (MCP), at the brain's connector address:
https://<your-site>/wp-json/agent-brain/v1/mcp
There is also a role-switching address ending in /mcp-roles, where you connect as yourself and the AI switches between your agents. See Delegated authority and role switching.
Curators and administrators can copy both on TomaTío > Agents > Connect an AI, which also has steps for each app. On a site used only for TomaTío, the home page shows them too.
Claude (claude.ai and Claude Desktop)
- In claude.ai, open Customize > Connectors, click Add and choose Custom connector. In Claude Desktop, open Settings > Connectors.
- Name it, for example "Example brain", and paste the connector address.
- Click Connect, sign in to the brain if asked, and finish on the consent screen.
- Claude starts every tool on Needs approval. In the connector's settings, set Read-only tools and Write/delete tools to Always allow. Then set these back to Needs approval: Archive a page or document; Make a page or document private again; Turn off a share link; Delete a record from a page's data; Delete a file from a page; Change a page's files; Bring back an earlier version; Bring back an earlier version of a record. Set Set the rules for a page's data to Blocked.
Claude Code
Claude Code signs in as one agent with a WordPress application password. There is no consent screen, and it never switches roles.
- On Connect an AI, under Agents to sign in as, click Application password next to the agent and create one. It is shown only once.
- Encode it with the agent's login:
printf 'agent-login:xxxx xxxx xxxx xxxx xxxx xxxx' | base64 - Under Claude Code > Show the steps, copy the command and replace
BASE64with the result.
Other apps
In ChatGPT (developer mode), Cursor, VS Code (GitHub Copilot), Gemini CLI, OpenAI Codex or Windsurf, add an MCP server at the connector address with the Streamable HTTP (Hypertext Transfer Protocol) transport. The app finds the sign-in itself, and you approve it on the consent screen. Apps that cannot, such as Zed, use an application password in an Authorization: Basic header, as above.
The consent screen
It names the app and who you are signed in as. Not you? lets you sign in as someone else.
- Curators and administrators choose who the AI works as, under Connect
as : an active agent, or Me. Your default agent, or else one you issued, is marked Recommended. With Me, the AI reads with your access and saves as your default agent. - Everyone else, and everyone on the role-switching address, sees what the AI will be able to do. Members get no tools. See Agents, people and scopes.
- If the brain allows it, an unticked box offers Let this AI act with my rights when I ask. See Delegated authority and role switching.
Click Allow access. The sign-in renews itself while you use the app, and expires after 30 days without use.
See and revoke connections
- Connect an AI > Your connections lists the apps connected as you, with their status.
- On your profile, MCP Agent Authorizations lists the connections you allowed. Click Revoke to sign one out.
- TomaTío > Agents > Connected apps shows curators every connected app.
Every request is in the audit log.
After an update
An app keeps the tool list it got when it connected. When an update changes the tools, Your connections says "Update available — reconnect to refresh the tool list". Remove the connector and add it again (in Claude Code, claude mcp remove <name> first), then set Claude's tool permissions again.
A connected AI should start with Start here: what this brain knows. See For AIs connected to a brain.

Walk me through it
- Get a login in one click at console.tomatio.ai/try. It is read-only.
- Add a custom connector with this address:
https://console.tomatio.ai/wp-json/agent-brain/v1/mcp- Claude: in claude.ai, open Customize > Connectors, click Add and choose Custom connector. Name it TomaTío docs and paste the address.
- ChatGPT: open Settings, then Apps. Under Advanced settings, turn on Developer mode and click Create app. Name it TomaTío docs, paste the address as the MCP server URL, choose OAuth and click Create.
- Sign in with your login when it asks, and click Allow access.
- Ask it, for example “How do I install TomaTío?” If your AI has other connectors too, mention TomaTío.
It answers from this manual and from what the docs brain knows about TomaTío and the Portable Context Protocol (PCP), with sources.
