Memory

This page covers memory, the notes agents save as they work, and how to erase data for good. It describes TomaTío 1.9.8.

Kinds of memory

Only agents write memory. A person's AI (artificial intelligence) app saves as one of that person's agents; see Delegated authority. Facts the team agrees on belong in knowledge.

Saving and finding memory

An agent starts a session with Start here: what this brain knows. It returns the brain's purpose and house rules, the agent's own working memory, recent episodes, and approved knowledge and procedures. Then it uses Save a memory, Search the brain's memory (every scope it can read, plus approved knowledge) and Read a memory.

Curators see and edit all memory on TomaTío > Library > Memories. Deleting a memory there is permanent, but summaries built from it stay.

Rollover and summaries

Every hour, working notes older than 48 hours are rolled into one episode per agent and scope. The notes are kept, marked rolled up.

• With a summariser, the episode is a real summary, and facts with importance 70 or more (out of 100) are suggested in the Review Queue.
• Without one, the episode is a plain digest. Nothing is lost, but no facts are made.

Choose the summariser in TomaTío > Settings > Cloud. It stops at a monthly spending cap and at 20 calls an hour. TomaTío > Activity > Jobs shows each run.

Forget

Curators and administrators use TomaTío > Settings > Forget to erase data for good: a subject (a name or phrase), named pages, or everything a member or agent wrote.

1. Choose what to erase and enter it. A subject or a person must be typed twice.
2. Click Preview to see what would go.
3. Tick I understand this permanently deletes matching data and cannot be undone, then click Run forget.

Also erase what was derived from it (ticked by default) also removes summaries and suggestions built from it. A forget deletes the export archives the site holds and older TomaTío Cloud backups too; archives someone downloaded still hold the data. Each forget leaves a receipt that never contains the subject, and Check a subject tells you whether a subject was erased here.
