Settings and admin screens
This page is for the people who manage a brain. It explains the TomaTío menu in wp-admin and the tabs of TomaTío > Settings in TomaTío 1.9.8.
The TomaTío menu
The menu has six groups, each with a row of tabs.
| Group | Tabs |
|---|---|
| Overview | Overview |
| Review | Review Queue, Handoffs |
| Library | Memories, Knowledge, Procedures, Artifacts |
| Agents | Agents, Agent View, Scopes, Grants, Connect an AI |
| Activity | Audit Log, Jobs |
| Settings | Settings, Export and import, Forget, Comments, Provenance |
Curators and administrators see every screen, except Export and import, which is for administrators only.
Settings tabs
Cloud
How old memories are summarised. Use any of these, or none:
- Your site's AI provider, if WordPress has one set up.
- OpenAI-compatible endpoint. Enter the Base URL, Model and API key (the service's application programming interface key), click Save endpoint, then Test connection. The key is stored encrypted. For a server on your own network, tick "This endpoint is on my own network".
- TomaTío Cloud, an optional hosted service. It is not open to the public yet.
TomaTío uses your endpoint first, then the cloud, then the site's provider. With none, memories still roll over, unsummarised. See Memory.
Backups
Daily encrypted backups to TomaTío Cloud, once it is connected. Click Generate and download backup key and keep the key: without it, no backup can be restored. Restoring is not available yet, so keep a full export too. See Export, import, migration and backups.
Self-Check
Checks the server and marks each item Pass, Warn or Fail, with what to do. The Overview's "System health" line links here.
Site
- This site is dedicated to TomaTío. Hides the website screens and shows the team home page. To use your own logo, set a Site Icon in Settings > General.
- Link back to your app. An address and a label of up to 80 characters.
Onboarding
- What this brain is for. One line, up to 300 characters.
- House rules. Up to 4,000 characters, sent in every briefing.
- Default briefing budget (tokens). Default 2,000, from 500 to 32,000.
- Allow role-switching connections. On by default. See Delegated authority and role switching.
- Delegated authority. Allowed by default. Each person still opts in when connecting.
Sharing
See Sharing pages and documents.
| Setting | Default |
|---|---|
| Preview host | empty: links use the site's address |
| Disable all sharing | off |

Review
- Approve facts from curators' own Tíos automatically. Off by default.
- Close untouched items after (days). Default 14. 0 keeps them open. See The Review Queue.
Privacy
- Record what an AI session saw before it wrote. On by default. It records item numbers, never content.
- Action context and provenance retention (days). Default 90.
Other screens
- Jobs: recent summarising runs, and Retry compression now.
- Audit Log: every tool call and event, with who, when and the outcome.
- Agent View: the brain exactly as one agent sees it.
- Grants: the public grant. Nothing can be published outside the brain without it.
- Provenance: where one item came from.
- Forget: removes data for good and keeps a receipt. See Memory.
Limits without a screen
Change these with WP-CLI (the WordPress command line), for example wp option update ab_db_budget_mb 1000.
| Limit | Default | Option |
|---|---|---|
| Database budget. Above 60%, low-importance memory is pruned; approved knowledge never is. | 500 MB | ab_db_budget_mb |
| Audit log kept | 90 days | ab_audit_retention_days |
| Summarising calls an hour | 20 | ab_compression_hourly_call_limit |
| Hosts HTML pages may fetch data from | none | ab_html_connect_hosts |
Need help?
Connect your AI to TomaTío's docs brain and ask it.
Walk me through it
- Get a login in one click at console.tomatio.ai/try. It is read-only.
- Add a custom connector with this address:
https://console.tomatio.ai/wp-json/agent-brain/v1/mcp- Claude: in claude.ai, open Customize > Connectors, click Add and choose Custom connector. Name it TomaTío docs and paste the address.
- ChatGPT: open Settings, then Apps. Under Advanced settings, turn on Developer mode and click Create app. Name it TomaTío docs, paste the address as the MCP server URL, choose OAuth and click Create.
- Sign in with your login when it asks, and click Allow access.
- Ask it, for example “How do I install TomaTío?” If your AI has other connectors too, mention TomaTío.
It answers from this manual and from what the docs brain knows about TomaTío and the Portable Context Protocol (PCP), with sources.
